(november 21, 2016 – hong kong) amusement is an indispensable part of children’s obstructed, unable to truly enjoy the inclusive play space. the "children’s dream. think together-"china overseas x kindness" art creation exchange program for students from the two places", co-organized by china overseas group and hong kong children’s inclusive charity. through art workshops, different abilities and backgrounds in china and hong kong the children incarnate as space designers, with care and respect for different people, to create the inclusive play space in their minds. the plan also gathers all the children’s creative ideas, publishes the book "our inclusive play space", and holds a "symposium concerning children's play rights" during the book launch to share with the public the importance of inclusive space and promote message of equal care.
art workshop draw the heartfelt words of children
a number of art workshops were held in hong kong and many mainland cities from april to june this year. participants came from mainstream and special schools in hong kong, mainland china overseas hope primary school and the china overseas community, including ordinary, mentally handicapped, and physically handicapped and minority elementary school students, the number of participants is nearly 1,100. through field investigations and discussions, children designed different play elements to share their imaginations in the form of art. minority classmate aisha drew a tall person standing next to amusement facilities. she said: "this person represents a child with a physical disability. i hope to increase everyone's attention to them and design a play space suitable for them." ye xingang from the special school shared: "everyone has the right to participate, and i also hope to have the opportunity to play with different people." i spent a whole day with children of different abilities. at the same time, he was also a volunteer from china overseas group, xie baoling. (sister bao) brought a deep feeling: "i saw that children with disabilities need more effort than ordinary people to play and paint. i admire their perseverance and hope that there will be more people in the society. i can put aside the discriminatory eyes and see their advantages."promote children’s right to play
the "our inclusive play space" book release conference and symposium concerning children's play rights was successfully held on november 21. the event also invited hong kong registered architect and children's picture book creator, ms. jian zhenzheng, to exchange ideas about inclusive play space with children of different abilities and backgrounds. ms. jian zhenzheng analyzed the elements of children's inclusive play space from the perspective of professional architectural design: "a play space should have diversified characteristics, strengthen the interaction between people, and take into account the needs of different people. for example, let a few image signs that ethnic people understand, or use water, sand, music and other materials and elements to bring greater excitement to children with less concentration, so that more people can enjoy it."
